UK EPR fees now reward recyclable, fiber-based packs — and quietly penalize every hard-to-recycle component inside.
From July, UK packaging fees flex by recyclability. The harder a pack is to recycle, the more it costs to sell.
And fees are judged across the whole pack — so a non-recyclable silica gel desiccant quietly pushes the bill up. A paper desiccant like de:hum keeps the pack, and the fee, on the low side.
Recyclability just became a line item.
